ABOUT US
Our faculty was established in Safranbolu, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, with the departments of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance and Recreation Management, affiliated with Karabük University, with the law no. 2809 dated 26.09.2011. The founding purpose of our faculty is to contribute to the training of the educated workforce needed in the Western Black Sea Region at the micro level and throughout the country at the macro level and to the development of the country's tourism.
 
          Safranbolu Faculty of Tourism started its academic life with the Department of Tourism Management in the 2013-2014 academic year, the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts in the 2018-2019 academic year, the Department of Tourism Guidance in the 2019-2020 academic year and finally the Department of Recreation Management in the 2020-2021 academic year. has grown from strength to strength. As of now, our faculty continues its education and training activities with 27 academic staff, 18 administrative staff and 872 students. In addition, our faculty continues its education activities not only at the undergraduate level but also at the postgraduate level. In this context, it provides postgraduate education in the Department of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Cultural Heritage and Heritage Site Management Postgraduate Programs affiliated with the Graduate Education Institute and has 82 postgraduate students. It provides PhD education with 9 students in Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Programs.
 
        Students studying in the Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Programs at the University House, which operates within our Faculty in the "Old Bazaar", the tourism center of Safranbolu, turn the knowledge they have obtained in the courses into practice under the supervision of faculty members.
 
       Graduates of our faculty work in the front office, housekeeping, kitchen, service, bar, purchasing, marketing-sales and human resources departments of accommodation establishments in the public or private sector, in the reservation, operation, ticketing and accounting departments of travel agencies, in ground services, food and service departments of airline companies. They can work as tour guides and managers in beverage establishments and recreation establishments. There are also opportunities to work in the public sector at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its affiliated organizations.
 
            Our faculty has been entitled to receive the "Orange Flag" given by YÖK due to the arrangements it has made regarding Access to Space for the disabled.
